The Iowa Friends of Old Time Music is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to preserve, promote, and perform acoustic music, and to celebrate this music in all of its various American and ethnic traditions. Our organizational structure includes a nine-member board and several hundred local members who achieve member status simply by attending one of our sponsored events or requesting that their name be added to our mailing list. Our sponsored events include a weekly jam session in downtown Iowa City, concerts by both regional and national performers, and The Fiddler’s Picnic, an all day music festival featuring many of Eastern Iowa’s finest traditional musicians.
